Homemade Hot Pockets

These homemade hot pockets feature a golden, flaky crust filled with melty cheese, pizza sauce, and pepperoni. Perfect for quick meals, snacks, or meal prep, they are easy to customize and much better than store-bought versions.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp water (for egg wash)

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix and knead until a smooth dough forms. Cover and let rise for 45–60 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut into rectangles.
  5. Spread pizza sauce on one half of each rectangle, then add cheese and pepperoni.
  6. Fold the dough over and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush with egg wash and cut small slits on top.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Avoid overfilling to prevent bursting during baking. Seal edges היט היט with a fork for best results. You can freeze before or after baking for convenience. Try different fillings like ham and cheese or veggies for variation.
