Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches (peeled, pitted, and sliced)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest (optional)

Equipment

  • saucepan
  • blender or food processor
  • ice cream maker optional
  • mixing container for freezing
  • spoon or spatula

Method

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar fully dissolves, then let cool.
  2. Add the sliced peaches, lemon juice, and optional zest to a blender or food processor.
  3. Pour in the cooled sugar syrup and blend until completely smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
  5. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours until cold.
  6. Pour into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions.
  7. Transfer to a container and freeze for 2–3 hours until firm.
  8. Scoop and serve chilled.

Notes

For best results, use fully ripe peaches for maximum sweetness and flavor. Chill the mixture thoroughly before churning to achieve a smoother texture. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, stir the mixture every 30 minutes while freezing to reduce ice crystals.
