Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
  • lemon wedges for serving (optional)
  • red pepper flakes for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • sheet pan
  • parchment paper
  • mixing bowl
  • tongs or spatula
  • chef's knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Place the broccoli florets on one side of the pan. Toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Arrange the salmon fillets on the other side of the pan. Brush with olive oil and season with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Top each salmon fillet with lemon slices.
  5. Roast for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the broccoli is tender with crispy edges.
  6. For extra browning, broil for 1 to 2 minutes at the end if desired.
  7. Garnish with parsley and extra lemon before serving.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry before seasoning for the best texture. Cut broccoli into even-sized florets so everything cooks evenly. Avoid overcrowding the pan to help the broccoli roast instead of steam. For extra flavor, finish with fresh lemon juice and parsley before serving.
