Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked crispy
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • chopped chives (optional topping)
  • everything bagel seasoning (optional topping)
  • hot sauce (optional topping)

Equipment

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • skillet
  • pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally while keeping the rolls connected.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Whisk the eggs with milk, salt, and pepper. Scramble in a skillet over medium heat until just set.
  5. Layer the scrambled eggs over the rolls, then add cooked bacon and cheese slices.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
  7. Brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder or everything bagel seasoning if desired.
  8. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 5–7 minutes until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden.

Notes

Cook the eggs slightly soft since they continue cooking in the oven. Cover the sliders with foil during the first part of baking to keep the rolls soft while heating through. These sliders freeze well and can be reheated directly from frozen. Customize them with sausage, veggies, or different cheeses for easy variations.
